PPO Smart Imaging-systeem
Het Canadese bedrijf P&P Optica (PPO) werkt samen met bedrijven in de voedingsindustrie om productvreemde delen op te sporen en de voedselveiligheid te waarborgen. Dit doen ze met behulp van het gepatenteerde Smart Imaging-systeem. Deze combineert hyperspectrale vision met AI. Deze techniek wordt in de Verenigde Staten en Canada op ruime schaal toegepast, PPO heeft in deze landen dan ook al vele machines geleverd. PPO haalde recent een mooie opdracht van een Europees kippenverwerkingsbedrijf binnen, deze wil het controleproces automatiseren om er zeker van te zijn dat er geen productvreemde materialen zoals plastic, hout en rubber in de vleesproducten achterblijven. PPO heeft hiervoor de juiste machine, maar deze moest nog wel geschikt worden gemaakt voor de Europese markt. PPO is hiervoor de samenwerking aangegaan met Hellebrekers voor de besturingstechniek en ons als machinebouwer.
Voor de uitvoering van de opdracht heeft PPO het ontwerp en schema’s gedeeld. Wij hebben deze vervolgens ontleed en de frames en transportbanden opnieuw opgebouwd conform de Europese standaard op het gebied van hygiëne en machineveiligheid. Hellebrekers is verantwoordelijk voor de complete besturing en bekabeling. Het resultaat is een systeem dat ieder item met vreemd materiaal aan het einde van de lopende band uit het proces verwijdert door middel van een schuifbare uitwerpband. De installatie is opgebouwd conform de laatste hygiëne eisen en wordt met CE keurmerk geleverd.

PPO Smart Imaging System
The Canadian company P&P Optica (PPO) works with companies in the food industry to detect foreign parts and ensure food safety. They do this using the patented Smart Imaging System. This combines hyperspectral vision with AI. This technology is widely used in the United States and Canada, and PPO has already supplied many machines in these countries. PPO recently got a nice order from a European chicken processing company, which wants to automate the control process to ensure that no foreign materials such as plastic, wood and rubber remain in the meat products. PPO has the right machine for this, but it still had to be made suitable for the European market. PPO has entered into a partnership with Hellebrekers for the control technology and us as the mechanical fabricator.
PPO shared the design and diagrams for the execution of the project. We then dissected these and rebuilt the frames and conveyor belts in accordance with the European standard in the field of hygiene and machine safety. Hellebrekers is responsible for the complete control and cabling. The result is a system that removes any product containing foreign material from the process at the end of the conveyor belt using a sliding reject belt. The installation is constructed in accordance with the latest hygienic requirements and is supplied with the European CE mark.
